Robert Boyd Cooper, Jr., a loving father, and devoted grandfather, passed away on December 7, 2025, in Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of 93. Born on November 27, 1932, in Idalou, Texas, Robert dedicated his life to serving others and nurturing a deep faith that inspired those around him.

Robert was a man of remarkable intellect, holding a Masters in Divinity and Social Work, along with an honorary Doctor's Degree from Howard Payne University. His educational pursuits were driven by a selfless desire to uplift and guide his congregation and community, embodying the very principles he preached.

As a pastor, Robert possessed a profound ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life. His loving nature and intelligence made him not only a spiritual leader but also a confidant and mentor to many. His commitment to his faith was evident in his daily life, where he often sought out ways to extend compassion and kindness.

In addition to his pastoral duties, Robert had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He was a member of Pelham Road Baptist Church. He loved gardening, often cultivating blooms with the same care he showed to those around him. He took delight in making homemade ice cream, hosting family gatherings where laughter filled the air. A skilled pianist, Robert played for his church and his family. His appreciation for antiques reflected his love of history and beauty adding a unique charm to his home.

Robert is remembered fondly by his daughter, Michelle McClendon (Rod), his son, Keith Cooper (Lark), and his beloved grandchildren: Madison McClendon, Bryce McClendon, and Lillie Cassidy (Patrick). These family members will carry forward his legacy of love, service, and dedication to family.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Euneta Cooper, who was his beloved partner in life. Their bond was a testament to enduring love, and he is now reunited with her in peace.
