Robert W. Copelan
SIMPSONVILLE- Robert Welborn Copelan, 62, passed away Wednesday September 18, 2024, from injuries sustained in an accident.
He was born June 12, 1962, in Abbeville to Lynn Pope Copelan Hilley of Abbeville and the late Tommy R. Copelan. He loved fishing, Clemson Football, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife, Kimberly Dixon Copelan of the home; two daughters, Beth Copelan of Greenville and Shelby Copelan of New Albany, Indiana; four sons, Jace Copelan of the home (Sydney Sloan), Adam Williams of Woodruff (Barbye), Justin Williams of Woodruff (Brianni Gonzalez) and Brian Kohler of Laurens (Katie); daughter-in-law, Kaitlyn Williams of Laurens; two sisters, Rhonda Thorpe of Abbeville (Mitchell) and Robin Tate of Simpsonville (Barry); three brothers, Phil Copelan of Abbeville (Donna), Tom Copelan of Simpsonville (Ginger) and Greg Saxon of Seneca (Angela); five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Justin Copelan, his stepfather, Ron Hilley and his stepmother, Dot Copelan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel by Pastor James Amos. Interment will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers, Jace Copelan, Adam Williams, Justin Williams, Chris Ryon, Brian Kohler, Jeffrey McCollum, Jordan Hazel and Tanner Dixon.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions and donations may be made to Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary, 257 North Main Street, Woodruff, S.C. 29388 to assist the family with final expenses.
