Robert Copithorne Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Weir Mac Cuish Family Funeral Home from Oct. 31 to Nov. 1, 2021.
Robert "Bob" Copithorne, 72 of Malden, Ma passed away peacefully on October 28th, 2021 at MGH surrounded by loving family. Bob was born in Somerville, Ma on November 28th, 1948, son of the late William and Margaret (Quigley) Copithorne.

He married the "love of his life", as he referred to her as recently as the day before his passing, Patricia (Duggan) Copithorne.

Bob was a loyal member of the electrical union IBEW local 103, for over 50 years and took much pride in that. He retired as an electrician and took a part time job at Century Bank to put his oldest granddaughter through four years of college.

Bob enjoyed taking long walks around the city of Malden and he loved sports, especially his Boston teams. But, most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially Brian and Franny Smith, his life-long friends. He loved to travel to NH to spend quality time with them.

Bob is survived by his wife Patricia, his daughter Tina Teves and her partner Kevin Vetrano, His sons Marc, Mathew and his long term partner Deseree Doherty, his grandchildren Kayla Teves and her partner Kyle Barbaro, Alyssa Copithorne, Jeremy Teves, Devin Copithorne, Amanda Teves and Kylie Copithorne. Additionally Kevin's son Jr. Vetrano, and Kyle's daughter Ava Barbaro.

Also survived by his siblings William Copithorne and his wife Candace, Richard Copithorne and his wife Gracine, Judith Fallon and her late husband Craig, Jane Marie Murray and her husband Tom and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Bob was proud to be called "UB" by so many amazing nieces and nephews, that always made him laugh and smile.

Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCush Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, MA on Friday November 5th from 4-6pm

I am sorry I missed paying my respect in person. I came to work for you in 1979 at Tufts University for W H Bennett and we continued to work together for over 20 years. You where a great person and electrician. We had many great times fishing with RIP Ron Garvin on the Kick of Three plus Friday after work beers in Revere. RIP Bobby and my condolences to your family.

I worked for Bob when I was an electricians apprentice. A true gentleman, one of the smartest kindest bosses you could ask for. Sorry for your loss.
