Robert Corriveau

Robert G. Corriveau, 76, passed away on September 13, 2024, in Falmouth, MA, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Van Buren, Maine, to Joseph and Yvonne Corriveau, Bob was raised and educated in Van Buren before continuing his studies at the University of Maine in Orono, where he graduated as salutatorian with a degree in business.
Bob began his career in finance as a CPA with Peat Marwick Mitchell, an accounting firm in Providence, RI. After his career as a CPA, he established a successful telecommunications business. Beyond his professional achievements, Bob will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his love of Boston sports, and his passion for outdoor activities, including hiking in Sedona and playing golf with his children. He had an immense love for music and cultivated a vast album collection, with his favorites being Dire Straits, Santana, and the Rolling Stones.
Bob took great pride in any project that he undertook, ensuring that it was completed with precision and care. This included his meticulous care for the family home (which he designed) and his devotion to maintaining a beautiful yard. During his twin daughters' early years, Bob was often seen on his bike, towing his daughters around town in a beach buggy. Though not the biggest fan of the beach, he happily pretended to enjoy it for their sake. He never missed a tennis match or activity for his daughters and was always eager to tutor them in math or help proofread their high school papers. Additionally, Bob was always attuned to the weather and was famous for rescuing his daughters from surprise storms at Old Silver Beach.
A lifelong fan of all Boston sports, Bob especially enjoyed the Patriots during the Tom Brady era, the Celtics of the 1970s and 1980s, and the Red Sox "reverse the curse" team in 2004. He shared his passion for sports with his family. One of his most cherished memories was a surprise family trip to Fenway, where he watched his eight-year-old daughters' faces light up with awe and delight as they saw the ballpark for the first time.
Bob treasured family gatherings, particularly the annual 4th of July reunions on Cape Cod, where countless games of ping pong and pool were enjoyed with family and friends. His kindness, humor (inherited from his father), and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Nothing brought Bob more joy than spending time with his grandchildren, Patrick, Noelle, and Graham, with whom he shared a special bond. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Corriveau (LaPlante); his daughters, Marie Corriveau and her spouse, Kenny Wang, and Amy Corriveau and her spouse, Ashley Baxter. Bob will also be missed by his loyal granddogs, Piper and Petey. He is survived by his sister, Claudette Hallisey, his loving brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob wished to be remembered as the person he was before his illness. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal funeral or memorial service. Instead, his family will honor his memory with a celebration of life at a later date, where we will gather to share the countless stories and cherished memories of how Bob touched our lives.
