Robert J. Corti (Bobby), 67, of Westford Vermont, formerly of Newburgh and Poughkeepsie NY passed peacefully from this life on March 23, 2022 at home.
Bob was born on February 5th, 1955 in Newburgh, NY. He is the son of the late Albert Corti and Anita (Corrado) Corti. He was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy (class of 1973) and attended studies at Orange County Community College in Electrical Technology.
Bob was an outstanding, self taught musician who had an amazing talent for playing the guitar and was honored to be a member of several bands over the years, i.e., The Fizz and Bandit to name just a few. He was a gifted guitarist who could play any guitar solo note for note to the original recording. Aside from his love of music, he was also quite active with gardening, biking, hiking, skiing, kayaking and just about any outdoor activities. He loved to travel, having made several trips to Thailand in recent years for weeks at a time. Bob had a long and esteemed career at IBM in both the Hudson Valley and Burlington facilities and was currently enjoying retirement.
Bob is survived by his sister Carol Corti Traver (husband Steve Traver), brother William Corti (wife Lynn Horwath Corti), nephews Michael and Eric Corti, Aaron, Kyle and Zachary Traver, great niece Olivia Corti and aunt Louise McKibben. He was lucky to have and know many close friends.
Bob was active with his local charities and in lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to your local food pantry in Bob's name.
The family will be having a memorial celebration of Bob's life on April 22nd, 2022 from 10am to 11:30am at Brooks Funeral Home in Newburgh, NY. Burial will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor, NY.
