Alexander D. Corti, age 41, passed away unexpectedly from complications during his brave battle with cancer on December 22, 2025.

Alex was a proud Marine Corps Veteran. He enlisted in the Marines from 2004 to 2009 and served honorably as a Corporal with 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment as an 0311 infantry man. He completed two combat tours to Fallujah, Iraq from Sept. 2005 to Apr. 2006 and Apr. 2007 to Oct. 2007. He received many distinguished awards including French Fourragere, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal x 2nd Award, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon x 2nd Award, Global War on Terrorism Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Certificate of Commendation, Letter of Appreciation, and Expert Rifleman x 2nd Award.

After his military service, Alex pursued education in national security where he achieved multiple degrees to include a degree in Geospatial Intelligence, a Bachelor of Science in Intelligence Studies, and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from Mercyhurst University. His passion for service continued after graduation where he volunteered with NGOs in supporting anti-human trafficking operations. He went on to find professional success in multiple roles involving data analytics.

Alex was a loyal friend to many, built friendships easily, and kept them for life. Alex had an eclectic set of interests and activities, approaching each with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a genuine joy for life. He had an adventurous spirit and always lived life to the fullest; welcoming new challenges and experiences. Above all else, he was a proud and devoted Dad to Aurora his "Goose".

Alex is survived by his devoted wife Bridget Heller, his deeply loved daughter Aurora, parents Mark and Julie Corti, brothers Kellen Corti and Keith Daly, parents-in-law Michael (Joanna) Heller, and Nancy (Joe) Giannamore, brothers-in-law Nathan (Julia) Heller, and Daniel (Jenna) Heller, sisters-in-law Colleen (Derek) Lawrie, and Samantha (Ryan) Heller. He also leaves behind nieces, a nephew, cousins and many treasured friends who he considered family.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate and honor Alex on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 2pm to 6pm at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd, Eastlake, OH. A service will be held at 6pm at the funeral home.

To honor Alex's legacy and his love for Aurora, the family welcomes memorial contributions in person at the visitation or via Venmo: @Bridget-Heller noting "In Memory of Alex".

Lee, Mark, Julie, So sorry for your loss, my heart is breaking for all of you. Sending prayers that God will ease your pain and be with you as you mourn and heal.
So sad that things have changed so much, wishing our kids could have known the joy of being with their cousins the way we were. I love you alland thank God I have those memories.

Wishing all of Alex's family and friends strength and support. Hard to imagine the journey he and all of you have endured. I came to know of Alex's accomplishments, challenges and battles indirectly through his loving Aunt, Marj Kerns. May peace and resolve follow all of you.
