Robert E. “Bob” Cox, age 90, of Nova, died on Friday, February 27, 2026 at his home. Born July 26, 1935, Bob was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He later worked for Ford for over twenty years until his retirement.
An avid outdoorsman, Bob was fond of hunting and fishing in his spare time. When he watched TV, he frequently chose Westerns, a way of life which he admired. He loved attending powwows with his family in Mohican; camping and enjoying fry bread and other meals prepared over the fire. Bob always drove a truck, which he was very proud of.
A devout fan of the Cleveland Indians, Bob looked forward to baseball season and watched games religiously. Most importantly, however, Bob was a family man. He loved being “Pappy,” to his grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and many friends whom he treated like family. He was deeply loved and will be sincerely missed by all that knew him.
Left to cherish Bob’s memory are his children, Cathy Braun, of Nova, Rick Wilson, of Arizona, and Dave (Lisa) Cox of Olympia, Washington; grandchildren, Nicholas (Pamela) Dotson, Joseph W. Dotson, and Taylor Cox; and great-granddaughter, Kailyn Dotson.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Marty Cox; and his wife of nearly fifty years, Omalee Cox.
Family and friends are invited to visitation from noon until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, OH 44851. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation at 1:00 p.m.. Interment will take place at Nova Cemetery following services.
