Robert Critchelow Obituary
March 18, 1945 - January 24, 2025
Robert E. Critchelow, 79, of Cerro Gordo, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Cerro Gordo. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the funeral home in Cerro Gordo. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert's honor may be made to American Cancer Society.
Robert was born March 18, 1945, in Hardinsburg, Ky., the son of William and Stella (Crum) Critchelow. He married Marie Ogle on August 1, 1970, in Paris, Ill. Robert worked for 34 years as a grocery clerk at Kroger. He also worked for Firestone Tire. Robert loved photography and taking pictures. He and Marie also loved to travel and they traveled around the United States. Robert was also a huge sports fan and loved attending and cheering on the Cerro Gordo Broncos and the Fighting Illini.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Marie of Cerro Gordo; children, Candy (Jerry) Cruse of Decatur, Dorinda (Enriquez) Montelongo of Abbyville, Kan., Aaron (Carrie) Critchelow of St. Louis, and William (Tammy) Critchelow of Decatur; grandchildren, Makayl (Doug) Lercher, Jeffrey Roney, Malachi Critchelow, Christian Cruse and Sarah Roney; great-grandchild, Isla Roney; and sister, Marion Oieze.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and eight sisters.

Very sad to read about Bob. Bob was a great friend while working for Kroger in Decatur. You couldn't ask for a harder working guy. Always stayed till the work was done. He was friends with everyone. I know Bob loved his sports. Also remember Bob farming in the fall. Prayers for Bob and all his family.
