Robert "Bobby" Crumpton Jr of Minneapolis, Minnesota, bravely faced Leukemia and entered heaven on September 11, 2021.
Bobby was born May 14, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois.
He grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and Reston, Virginia.
His education included the United States Military Academy at West Point and graduation from the University of Minnesota with a degree in economics. Bobby played football for West Point and the Minnesota Gophers.
Bobby was passionate about his faith in Christ Jesus.
He was certain his life and soul were sealed by the grace of Jesus.
Bobby was a business consultant and co-founder of Space Monkey Partners.
He was a coach at the core. Over the course of his career, he mentored hundreds of colleagues in the art of selling and in the field of business.
While an expert himself, he always operated from a place of humility. He met everyone where they were at, and encouraged them to be the best versions of themselves. He was wise, grounded, he helped countless others to become better in their work and personal lives. Because of Bobby's actions and his effervescent encouragement, he modeled Christ's love and humility.
Bobby enjoyed sports, however his beloved Vikings football was his favorite.
His passion was his founding of the Minnesota ThunderBoltz Womens Fastpitch Softball in 1993, which became the Minnesota Irish in 2015.
Traveling across the country with the Boltz, Bobby coached hundreds of young ladies and their families. He had the kind of impact that permeated far beyond athletics. Bobby passed on a contagious spirit that made his players feel important, valuable and confident. He instilled a deep sense of commitment, a fierce work ethic, sacrifice, and drive into each young athlete with the honor of wearing a Boltz uniform.
Bobby saw fastpitch softball as a vehicle for college scholarships, and he helped countless young women earn their secondary education.
Bobby spent additional years coaching in the St. Louis Park community from 2016-2019. His leadership gifts served others in God honoring love.
Bobby will be remembered for his infectious laugh and sweet smile. His legacy of generosity, coaching and mentoring of so many, mostly the young women he coached through fastpitch softball. His legacy has left a lifetime impact for those who knew and loved Bobby.
