Robert G. Cubbage, Jr., 71, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife Brenda and service dog Ely.
He was the beloved husband of Brenda Cubbage (nee Alley), faithful companion service dog Ely, and the cherished son of the late Robert Sr. and Lucille Cubbage. Robert was a devoted husband, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and a dear friend to many.
Bob was as gentle as he was strong. When he was a young man, he loved being a Boy Scout and was very proud when he achieved the level of Eagle Scout. He was a soldier's soldier who served as a combat medic in Vietnam. He was proud to be a part of General Curtis LeMay's Strategic Air Command and was a real patriot. Active in both the Masons and the Shriners Hospital, Bob took great pride in his community involvement. He had a passion for the outdoors, enjoyed working with leather, and had a special fondness for old trains. His friends and family picture him today fly fishing with his dad in Heaven, while his cigar friends smoke one for him.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at St. Martin's UCC in Dittmer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Shriner's Hospital are preferred.
