Robert Eugene "Bob" Cunningham

1955 - 2021

CUNNINGHAM, Robert "Bob" Eugene, 66, of Colonial Heights, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 29, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 15, 1955, he was the son of the late Jerry E. Cunningham. Bob was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Wilhelmine C. Cunningham; and mother-in-law, Lucille F. Mitchell. Bob was an avid fisherman; he loved spending time with his family and playing a competitive game of pool, especially with his brother-in-law, Bruce and enjoyed volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America. Bob was also a man of many talents and often called upon by the family whenever his help was needed. He recently retired from Aleris Rolled-Products Inc. in Chesterfield, Va. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, June Cunningham; stepchildren, Tim Beeler (Kelly) and Teresa Moore Downing (Marty); grandchildren, Cody and Rachel Beeler and Allison, Luke and Sam Moore; sisters, Bonnie Cole (Rickey) and Trudy Yates (Bob); brother-in-law, Bruce Mitchell (Norma); sister-in-law, Marla Berry (Johnny); and many other extended family members. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family respectfully requests that you practice social distancing during the visitation.
