Vickie Argabright Obituary

Victoria Reid Argabright, age 83, passed away at her home surrounded by loved ones in Richmond, VA on January 8, 2026 after complications and a battle with cancer. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on May 1, 1942, daughter of the late Robert Charles Reid and Mary Elizabeth Turner Reid.

Vickie, as she was known, is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Robert Shannon Argabright II, her Children Holly (Patrick), Reid (Blair), Leigh-Ann (Don) and Will (Amanda). Along with 12 grandchildren (Charlotte, Reid, Eloise, Will, Katie, Stirling, Zoe, Ashley, Campbell, Tabitha, William, and Evan) and 8 great grandchildren. She loved them all dearly.

Raised in Roanoke, Va., Vickie attended Jefferson High School and continued her studies at Mary Baldwin College. In 1985, Vickie had a second chance at love and married the love of her life Bob Argabright. Their devotion to each other and their family was evident to all. Vickie and Bob relocated from Roanoke to Richmond in 1985. There, they joined Trinity United Methodist Church and she enjoyed playing an active role within the church. Vickie was an avid bridge and Mah Jong player and met with all of her many great friends weekly to play both games. Her friendships from her childhood in Roanoke, and at Mary Baldwin continued to be her most cherished. However, her friend group grew tremendously and deeply in Richmond as her friendships were a huge part of her every- day life. In Roanoke she was always busy with the Junior League and also the Mill Mountain Garden Club. She continued to be involved in the Junior League when she moved to Richmond. She brought This End Up Furniture to Roanoke in the early 80's and she loved her many years at This End Up.

Above all Vickie loved her family deeply. She was devoted to her entire family and followed all their varied interests and talents with much enthusiasm. Not one day went by without her family and friends recognizing Vickie's completely positive and happy attitude in all things. It was contagious! In spite of her various health issues, Vickie lived life fully and happily, brightening the lives of all those around her. She was adored by all.

The family wishes to thank Suncrest Hospice for their devoted attention to Vickie during her illness. A big thank you as well to all of her doctors at Duke and in Richmond. Lastly, thank you to all of Vickie's friends, near and far, who offered their love and support in so many ways. A memorial service celebrating Vickie's life will be held on February 13th – 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 903 Forest Ave., Richmond, VA 23229. Reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Vickie's honor to Friends of Bellemeade Park: 3131 Stony Point Road, Unit E, Richmond Virginia 23235.

Bob,
Sam and I are sending love and prayers to you and your family. I am so glad I got to visit with Vickie in December. She has always been one of my favorites of Terry's friends and she has always been a joy to be around. She and her sister Jane were loved by so many and may they rest together and watch over us.
Fondly,
Pamela and Sam Zimmer

The time I spent with Vickie was so special. I first met her in my salon doing her manicures and pedicures. Over a span of least 30 years I realized the braveness and courage she endured with health issues. It never spotted her from carrying on. Her family was her life...sister Jane and of course her Bob. Children Nieces and nephews and grandchildren help such an important place in her heart. I will always be so great full for having Vickie in my life. My sincere condolences to the family. Rest in peace my friend
