Faye Rigby Obituary
Faye Rittenhouse Rigby, 89, of Troy, Va. and Somers Point, N.J., passed away on January 20, 2026.
She departed this world peacefully, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love that will forever remain in our hearts.
Born in Charlottesville, Va., Faye was the daughter of Henry Luther and Ada Rittenhouse (Duncan) and sister to Carol Craig, Judy Quick, and Hale Rittenhouse. Faye is mother to David, Catherine, and Michael Rigby; mother-in-law to Pamela Rigby; beloved grandmother to Patricia Counts, Vivian, Dallas, and Claire Rigby; and great-grandmother to Athena and Christopher Counts.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Luther and Ada Rittenhouse; her sister, Judy Quick; her husband, Christopher Ellis Rigby III; and son, Michael Rittenhouse Rigby.
Faye served her community and others as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point, N.J., and as a Somers Point, N.J. city council member. After obtaining her BA in Social Services from Stockton State College and Mary Baldwin College, she provided Adult Protective Services to Charlottesville area residents.
Faye was laid to rest at Mt. Eagle Baptist Church, Buck Island Rd, Charlottesville, Va.
