Robert Earl Cunningham, age 80, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Thursday evening, June 20, 2024, at Donalsonville Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Cunningham will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Elmore and Ronnie Joe Shiver officiating. Military honors will be given. Members of American Legion Post 157 will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, June 24, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Life at Lake Seminole Church of God 2164 Highway 253 Donalsonville, GA 39845.
Mr. Cunningham was born in Dothan, Alabama on May 12, 1944, to William Henley Cunningham and Alberta Bass Cunningham. He was a high school graduate and completed some college courses. He served his country in the United States Navy and went on to retire from Georgia Pacific where he worked as a clerk in the mill. Mr. Cunningham was a member of American Legion Post 157 and New LIfe at Lake Seminole Church of God. He enjoyed spending time on the lake, fishing, and being with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 58 years, Dale Cunningham of Donalsonville, GA; his sons, Andy Cunningham and wife Michelle of Jakin, GA and Randy Cunningham and wife Kristen of Pace, FL; and his grandchildren, Jared Cunningham of Hamilton, VA, Emily Newberry and husband Jordan of Donalsonville, GA, Drew Cunningham of Jakin, GA, Bailey Jackson Cunningham and William Michael Cunningham both of Pace, FL. His sister, Florence Williams of Dothan, AL; his sister-in-law, Faye Anderson and her husband Danny of Ozark, AL; and special friend, Faye Rutledge of Donalsonville, GA, along with several nephews and nieces also survive.
Mr. Cunningham was preceded in death by his parents, William Henley Cunningham and Alberta Bass Cunningham and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bailey and Lou Ellen Benton.
