ROBERT ‘BOB’ CUPPLES

Clarksville, TN: Robert Cupples, Jr. age 82 passed away December 19, 2023, at his home.

He was born April 13, 1941, in Henderson, the son of the late Robert Cupples, Sr. and Minnie Johnson Cupples. He grew up in Henderson and St. Louis, MO.

He served two years in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam during the War.

He married Janis Payne in December of 1970, and they made their home in St. Louis and then returned to Henderson in 1979. He owned his own business B & J Construction and drove an ambulance for Mullins Ambulance Service in St. Louis.

When he returned to Henderson, he became a truck driver, retiring in 2012.

He enjoyed barbequing on the weekends and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Cupples is survived by his wife, Janis Sharon Payne Cupples of Clarksville; two sons, Robert Lee Cupples, III of Clarksville and James W. Cupples (Carrie Barker, fiancée) of Clarksville; three grandchildren, Hailey D. Cupples, Joshua Lee Cupples and Chelsea Barker and a brother, Jim Cupples of Lexington.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his best friend, Troy Faulkner.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 27th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with burial to follow at Sardis Cemetery with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends at East Main 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM service time on Wednesday.
