EDNA JONES
Jackson, TN: Edna Louise Jones, age 84, passed away October 8, 2025, at her home.
She was born August 21, 1941, in Chester County, the daughter of the late Jesse and Nina Garner Emerson. She grew up in the Montezuma community of Chester County, attended Phillips School and was a graduate of Chester County High School.
She attended Milady Beauty School in Jackson and became a licensed beautician. She worked for several beauty salons and became owner operator of Country Classics in Jackson. She worked fifty-seven years as a hairdresser.
She married Lawrence Dale Jones on March 18, 1972, and they made their home in Jackson. They were married fifty-three years.
She was a member of the Haltoms Chapel Church.
She was a hard worker, devoted wife and doting aunt.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Lawrence Dale Jones of Jackson, a brother, J.C. Emerson (Linda) of Henderson, nephew, Justin Emerson (Jenifer) of Henderson and a niece, Brooke Emerson of Henderson, a great niece, Alané Barnett, and two great nephews, Eoden Barnett and Jesse Emerson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Mary Pate Emerson and Joyce Alene Emerson.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Friday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will follow at Haltom Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM service time on Friday.
