Shirley Ann Evans, age 88, passed away September 29, 2025 at Charter Senior Living in Jackson, TN.
She was born in Chester County, TN on March 22, 1937, daughter of the late Ezra and Jewel Opal Austin Plunk. She was a graduate of Chester County High School.
She married Cecil Ray Evans in 1956 and they made their home in Joliet, IL for many years, moving to Jackson, TN in 1991. Mr. Evans preceded her in death on April 17, 2012. While living in Joliet, she worked for Shelby Craftco. For many years she bought and sold antiques and collectibles.
She enjoyed crocheting in the winter, gardening in the summer and was a member of the Lily Foundation.
She is survived by her son, Terry Evans (Terri) of Columbia, TN; three grandchildren Candice Showers (Kenneth), Shellie and Krista Evans; five great grandchildren Jacob and Jordan Risner, Logan Showers, Ayden Cole and Asher Nichols; and two sisters Brenda Garrett (Otha) and Jo Ellen Garrett (Charles) both of Bolivar.
In addition to her parents and husband Cecil, she was preceded in death by two sons Jeffrey and Greg Evans; five brothers Eugene, Ronnie, Randy, Kenneth "Bud", and Larry Neal Plunk; two sisters Janice Plunk and Gail Clement.
There will be no local services.
