Helen E. Evans, 82, of Parsons, died at 5:15 a.m., Friday, at the Parsons Presbyterian Manor.

She was born April 24, 1943, in Parsons, to Ira R. and Evaline A. (Maloney) Crater. She grew up on the family farm at Mound Valley and in Parsons and graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont.

Helen was employed several years as a CNA at all nursing facilities in Parsons. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Her life was being around family and enjoyed, helping raise grandkids and great grandkids. She enjoyed family gatherings and making large dinners for family and friends.

On April 3, 1977 she and Butch Evans were married at the Parsons Nazarene Church. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2015.

Surviving are her children, Lora Trimble of Parsons, James "J.L" Trimble of Parsons and Kevin Evans (Erin) of Bentonville, AR; Jimmy Evans (Toni) of Parsons and Geronimo Henandez (Andre) of Strauss; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Crater; sisters, Sarah Baird, Alvera Erskin and Donna January; niece Cindy Evans and nephew, Mark Schibi.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Reverend Rodney Howell officiating. Burial will be in the East Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Proud Animal Lovers Shelter, Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or to the family to defray expenses. These may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357. Online condolences may be left at www.wallfuneralservices.com.
