She was born August 12, 1950 at Bastrop, LA, a daughter of John and Rosie Oaks. Her family then moved to Chicago, where she grew up and attended school. After she graduated from high school, she worked many years as a punch press operator and later as a line supervisor for a manufacturing company. She moved to Parsons in 2022 to be near her family.
She enjoyed reading.
Survivors include: her companion – Edgar Gills, of Parsons, KS; one son – Anthony Oaks, Of Memphis, TN; numerous grandchildren, including her caregiver – Shenita Oaks, of the home, Madison Pitts, of Parsons; four brothers – Henry Oaks, of Chicago, IL, Wayne Oaks, of Rockford, IL, John Oaks, of Chicago, IL, Douglas Oaks, of Chicago, IL. She weas preceded in death by two sons – Patrick and Edgar Oaks; one daughter – Alma Jean Oaks; and three sisters – Clare, Faith and Linda Oaks.
