Louise Waun, 78, of Parsons, passed away at 12:08 p.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at her home.

She was born on April 2, 1947 in Larned, Kansas to Clifford Farris and Esther Mae (Chappell) Ferguson.

Louise graduated from Parsons Senior High School in 1965 and later from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelors in Education. For many years she taught at Parsons School District in various grade levels and schools.

She loved bird watching, watching Wheel of Fortune and soap operas and her favorite candy, peanut butter m&m's. Lousie was a member of the Brown-Bishop VFW Post No 704 Auxiliary. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She and Ronald R. "Ron" Waun were married on Nov 5, 1994 in Parsons. She was a wonderful caregiver to Ron after his accident and for many years after. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2025. She had previously been married to Randy Irwin.

Survivors include her children, Brock Meadows and his wife, Rhea of Branson, MO and Sarah Stringer and her husband, Rusty of Parsons; grandchildren, Bryanna (Chance), Baylee, Alex, Paige, Payton and Brody; great-grandchildren, Gwyneth, Georgia and Asher; sister, Joann Lattin of Parsons; brother, Dwayne Ferguson of Colorado and former son-in-law, Mike DeWitt.

She was preceded in death by her son Casey Waun.

The family will receive friends at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 4, 2025. Memorials are suggested to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and may be left at or mailed to funeral home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357.
