Aurelia May Cole, 97, of rural Parsons passed away peacefully at her home on September 23, 2025. Aurelia was born on October 23, 1927 to Burl and Almedta (Foster) Carson on the family farm on Bender Mound. Aurelia attended school in Cherryvale, Kansas, graduating high school in 1945. She married Wallace Cole on May 14, 1949, enjoying 67 years of marriage. They lived and raised their family in rural Labette County where Aurelia resided for 76 years until the time of her passing.

Aurelia was proud of the 58 years she worked at the Parsons Livestock Auction. She made many cherished friends of both customers and co-workers alike during her long tenure. For numerous years, Aurelia was the bookkeeper for Hosney's Packing House in Coffeyville. She raised Cocker Spaniels and the family enjoyed attending the annual AKC dog show in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Later Aurelia worked at Stephens' dress shop, both in the office and on the sales floor, which explains why she always wore the latest fashion trends.

In her retirement she enjoyed cooking, her homemade noodles being a family favorite, sewing, gardening, and spoiling her grandkids.

Surviving are her four children, Kenny Cole, Amy Thomas (Guy), Rebecca Klunkert, and Alan Cole (Rhonda). There are twelve grandchildren, Chad Cole, Chris Cole, Leah Thomson, Nicole Tate, Scott Nash, Dustin Nash, Kristinn Benton, Shawn Augustine, Lindsey Hallgren, Whitney Cole, Kristen Carzoli, Darcy Dixon and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to her children, she is survived by her twin sister, Eudora Read of Grove, Oklahoma. Aurelia was loved by many, including her nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding her in death was her husband, her sister Carol Smith, twin infant grandsons and a great-granddaughter. Aurelia lived a long life leading by the example of her faith, work ethic and love for her family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025 at the Carson Wall Funeral Home with Randy Beaman officiating. Burial will follow at the Oswego Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-7 p.m. on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Oswego Christian Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
