Payton D. Allen, 37, of Altamont, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, due to health complications.

Payton Dee Allen was born on August 20, 1988, to Patrick Dee Allen and Debbie O'Hara in Parsons, Kansas. He was born with a heart defect that created health challenges throughout his entire life.

Following graduating from Labette County High School in 2006, Payton worked at Grandview, DuCommun, and Ruskins before finding a career he loved at Cessna. Due to his declining health, he was forced to leave the workforce in 2020.

An outdoorsman and gun enthusiast, Payton enjoyed shooting and collecting guns. Collecting and tinkering with vehicles and motorcycles, especially Harley Davidsons, were also favorite pastimes. Being a dad was his favorite role in life. Every day was a new adventure with his son, who was his sidekick.

Survivors include:

His son – Mason Allen

His mother – Debbie Groves (Steve) of Grove, Oklahoma

His sister – Karlie Groves of St. Paul, Minnesota

Paternal grandmother – Mary Ruth Allen of Parsons, Kansas

Maternal grandmother – Patricia O'Hara of Parsons, Kansas

Maternal grandfather – Mike O'Hara of Parsons, Kansas

Three aunts – Kathy Madl (Terry), Beverly Schoenhofer, and Brenda Johnston (Brian)

Two uncles - Chris Allen (Florence) and Tom O'Hara (Christina)

Numerous cousins
