Ronald A. "Ron" Hodge, 66, of Parsons, passed away the morning of Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Olathe Hospice House in Olathe.

Ron was born on March 27, 1959, to Irvin L. and Ruth E. (Sears) Hodge in Parsons, Kansas. He grew up in Parsons and attended school in Altamont. After graduating from Labette County High School, he attended Pittsburg State University.

While in high school, Ron worked at GB Manufacturing in Chetopa. At the age of 18, he started working for TecTank in Parsons, where he worked for 21 years.

In earlier years, he attended the First Christian Church. Later in life, he attended New Beginnings Church.

A devoted husband and family man, Ron loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish. He also enjoyed fixing things and working on lawnmowers.

On May 24, 1976, Ron and Sherrie Lynn Bowman were united in marriage in Parsons, Kansas. They enjoyed 49 years of marriage.

Other survivors include:

Three sons – Steve Hodge and his wife, Jamie, of Cherryvale, Kansas

Jeremy Hodge and his wife, Jeremie, of Parsons, Kansas

Jesse Hodge and his wife, Johnna, of Pittsburg, Kansas

15 grandchildren

Five great-grandchildren

Two brothers – Patrick Hodge and Steven Hodge

One sister – Sharon Clark and her husband, David

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Amber Hodge; two brothers, Terry Hodge and Richard Hodge; and his maternal grandmother, Gladys Sears.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to defray final expenses. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
