Obituary of Robert J Dansky
Robert (Twill) Dansky passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024, just 3 months shy of his 97 birthday.
He was born in Denver on August 7,1927 to Charles and Bessie Dansky. He grew up on the West Side of Denver with his older brother Jack and helped his parents run their small grocery on West Colfax. He ran with a large group of friends who all had nicknames and gave him the name "Twill" which stuck with him the rest of his life. As a young man, he fell in love with cars and later owned his own car lots. He was drafted and served in the Army in WWII but luckily, it was at the end of the war so he never left Denver and spent several years in the military police. Bob was honored to be a Veteran and a 32 Degree Master Mason.
His friend, Burton, had a sister and Bob would go over with the pretense to visit his friend, but really wanted to see his future bride, Charleen. They celebrated 65 wonderful years of marriage until Charleen's passing in January 2023.
Bob had many different jobs from car salesman to mail carrier to cab driver to western wear manufacturing. He was extremely creative and talented, attending the University of Denver to study art under renowned artists, Vance Kirkland and Frank Vavra. He entered many paintings in numerous art shows, even winning awards. Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and a generous spirit. He would be the first to offer assistance to anyone who needed it and had many long friendships.
But his greatest joy was his family – he is survived by his daughters, Lori Dansky Hasbrouck (Jay Hasbrouck) of Louisville, CO and Cheri Dansky (Richard Brian Mills) of Highlands Ranch. Grandsons, Cory Hasbrouck and Jeremy Hasbrouck, brother-in-law Edward Rosen (Louise Gallegos) and nephew Ronald Newstat,(Thealeyna Newstat) of San Rafael, CA.
A graveside service honoring Robert will be held Thursday, May 23 2024 at 2:00pm in Golden Hill Cemetery. Livestream available on Feldman Mortuary's YouTube Channel.
