Robert Wayne Day, 69, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away on March 31, 2025, at Carolina East Medical Center.
A funeral service to honor Robert’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 18th at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, officiated by Brother Bob Lowery. Interment will follow at Cedar Island Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.
Robert was born on May 6, 1955, in Sea Level, NC to the late Virgil Hervie Day Sr. and Stella Jean Draper Day. He honorably served in the United States Air Force and went on to work in Civil Service as a helicopter mechanic.
Robert was a gifted musician, known for his talent as a singer and songwriter. His friends from Down East will fondly remember him for his song, “Oysters in Heaven.”
Above all, Robert will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be deeply missed by his family.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Donna Stabley Day; daughter, Rhianna Day of Beaufort, NC; brothers, Warren Phillip Day of Havelock, NC, and John Michael Day of Arizona; and grandchildren, Austin Dixon and Kayceelynn Prescott.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel Patrick Day, Mark Stephen Day, and Virgil Hervie Day Jr.
