Robert Day Obituary
Robert F. Day Jr., age 83, of Skygusty, WV passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born August 1, 1941, in Welch, WV, he was the son of the late Robert F. Day Sr. and Cledia Freeman Day. He was a retired Electrician from US Steel and Virginia Crews coal companies, and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Lynette Day and his grandson, Robert Joseph Day, Jr. Those left to cherish Robert’s memory: his wife of 65 years, Josephine Costanzo Day of Skygusty, sons Robert J. Day and wife Michelle Clark Day of Summerville, SC, Daniel D. Day and wife Teresa Rose Day of Cleveland, NC, brother Ernest Day and wife Brenda of Bean Station, TN, grandchildren Kevin Kroll and wife, Melanie of Blueridge, VA, Thomas Day and Chandler Ingle of Summerville, SC, Daniel D. Day, Jr. and Sarah Day of Cleveland, NC, great-grandchildren Cayden Kroll, Christian Day, and Peyton Day, and step-great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Haley Wash.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Roger Yates officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with grandsons, family, and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
