Robert E. Dayton (Bob), age 79, of Shawano (formally of Waupaca and Denmark) passed away on September 13, 2025. Robert was born on August 9,1946 in Neillsville WI to the late Howard and Winnifred Dayton. On January 27,1973 he married Dorothy Cartwright who preceded him in death on April 26, 2017. For many years Bob worked as a mechanic at Neville Motors in Waupaca. He enjoyed playing cards and hanging out with his friends at the Denmark Danish Villa and attending the many activities his grandchildren were involved in. 

Bob is survived by his son Gene (Denise) Dayton and their children; Carter, Sam (Lexi Corrigan), & Calee, Denmark. 2 Daughters; Tabitha Dayton; and her children Brandon, Brittany, Brianna, and Vanessa, Waupaca. Jamie Dayton; and her children Melissa (Garrett) Dvorak, and August, New London. 3 Great granddaughters. Sisters Donna Zank and Patty (Roger) Mallory, Neillsville. Sister-in-Law Sylvia Dayton, Neillsville. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy's parents, sister Ruby Frost and brothers, Earl, Donald and Darrell Dayton. 

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 20, from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm at Cotter Funeral Home- Denmark Chapel (536 County Road R).
