Robert A. DeBellis, age 72, of Roselle, Illinois, passed away on February 23, 2026. Born on November 15, 1953, he led a life that was dedicated to both community service and his family.

Rob, as he was affectionately known, was a proud member of Sheet Metal Union Local 73, where he had a distinguished career marked dedication and hard work. He served as the past president of the Roselle Lions Club and was the founding president of the Roselle-Medinah Lions Club, contributing significantly to the local community. His commitment to teaching extended beyond his professional life; he taught Tai-Chi and Gung Fu for many years, sharing his knowledge and passion for martial arts with others.

Rob’s interests were as diverse as they were fulfilling. He cherished cooking and often found joy in grocery shopping and gardening. Fishing brought him tranquility, while raising German Shepherds and Pugs added love and companionship to his home. Travelling brought adventures, and he particularly took pride in his family’s Bengal cats, celebrating their achievements, including that of their top show Bengal, Beowulf, who held the prestigious title of Quad Grand Champion. In his later years, he found delight in watching the TV series Brooklyn 99, which brought him laughter and entertainment.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Dianne (Rhoney) DeBellis. Together, they raised three children: Robert Anthony DeBellis, married to Tammy (Hanzlovic); James Michael DeBellis, married to Kristen (Craine); and Dawn DeBellis Jeffcoats, married to Alan (Jeffcoats). Their legacy continues through their grandchildren: Derek Hanzlovic, Aaron Hanzlovic, Chayce Hanzlovic, Gavynn DeBellis, Antonella DeBellis, Sydney DeBellis, Jonah DeBellis, Olivia Jeffcoats, and Allison Jeffcoats, as well as their great-grandchildren: Serenity Capps, Marabelle Capps, Delilah Capps, Nova Capps, Zeek Capps, Dalton Koopman, and Brynnly Gaynes.

Robert A. De Bellis will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him, leaving behind an enduring legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to family and community.
