Robert (Bob) Earle Dengg was called home on July 7, 2022, after a very short battle with cancer, complicated by heart trouble and a rare autoimmune disorder called myasthenia gravis. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on November 25, 1946, to Gloria Ruth Brookshire Wood and Robert Earle Wood. When he was two years old, he and his mother moved to Akron, Ohio, where she remarried Gene Dengg, the man who would adopt and raise "Bobby" as his own. Bob graduated from Green High School and attended both Kent State and Ohio State University.

In July of 1969, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Marian Diedrich, whom he loved and adored his entire life. They had two children, Jeanna (James) Bokinskie and Robb (Lisa) Dengg; five grandchildren, Isaac, Parker, and Joel Dengg; and Anna, and Phoebe Bokinskie; and six step-grandchildren who they loved as their own: Amy Bokinskie, Summerly (Troy) Kirklin, CJ Bokinskie, James (Emily) Bokinskie Jr., Michael (Mary) Bokinskie, and Sarah (Shay) Dixon. They were also blessed with 8 beautiful great grandchildren. Throughout the years Bob and Marian have also had the joy of "fostering" many other loved ones, whom they consider family.

Bob and Marian lived in Ohio, New Jersey, Florida, and Utah. Bob spent most of his adult life working in the family business in New Jersey as the General Manager of Elmwood Auto Sales. He also owned his own used car lot in New Jersey and later took up real estate when he moved to Utah to be near his children. Bob loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Throughout his life Bob was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He leaves behind two sisters and a brother, Gloria Paolillo who lives in Florida, Mona (Tom) Deringer who live in Ohio, Frank (Vickie) Dengg who live in Ohio and a sister-in-law Carol (Ron) Crum who also live in Ohio. He has several nieces and nephews who share many fond memories of their Uncle Bob.

Bob would do anything for his family including spending several years in Florida, caring for his elderly mother. His sisters and brother will be eternally grateful. He and Marian returned to Utah after his mother died.

Bob was not only a devoted family man, but he was a devout Christian. Bob was not truly happy unless he was serving. He was as self-less as they come. He served in many leadership roles including bishop in both New Jersey and Florida. He had a strong faith in God and maintained a positive outlook on life because of that faith.

He was a lifelong reader, loved the movies, playing games, and solving sudoku. He had a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and the martial art of Shalin Kempo. He studied martial arts his entire life and really enjoyed teaching it and sharing its principles with others.

Bob will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. We take comfort in knowing that he is now watching over us with his Father in Heaven.

A memorial service will be held in his honor on Friday, August 5th at 10:30 am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Flint Meadows Ward Building, 615 North Flint St., Kaysville, UT.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to support one of the organizations that Bob was passionate about: The Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
