Robert William "Bob" Dewhurst

Robert William "Bob" Dewhurst, age 82, of Berlin, died peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Country Villa in Omro.

He was born December 25, 1943, in Berlin, WI, the son of William and Gertrude Rivers Dewhurst. Bob was a 1961 graduate of Berlin High School. On October 24, 1964, he was united in marriage to Betty Lunow at St. John Lutheran Church in Berlin.

For over 40 years, Bob worked for Realist/David White in Berlin. He enjoyed the times he was able to travel and embraced the joys of camping throughout his life. Bob generously gave of his time serving the community for 18 years as a volunteer fireman on the Berlin Fire Department and was so very proud that all three of his sons and son-in-law, were also on the fire department. He was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, holding various positions on the church board, including financial secretary for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; three sons, Douglas (Linda) Dewhurst, Daniel (Pam) Dewhurst and David (Amy) Dewhurst; one daughter, Deb (Mike) Schrader; nine grandchildren, Rev. Rob (Paige) Schrader, Peter (Jade) Schrader, Jennifer Dewhurst (fiancé, David Korpal), Stephanie (Evan) Moriarty, Austin Beuthin, Zach Dewhurst, Nate Dewhurst, Ryan Dewhurst and Aiden Dewhurst; five great-grandchildren, Lydia, Sophie, Elizabeth and Cooper Schrader and Mya Moriarty; and special nephew, Richard Mehn. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Elaine (Willie) Mehn and Mae (Matt) VanWilligen.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at St. John Lutheran Church in Berlin. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Robert Busse officiating. Inurnment will be in Welsh Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran School or Church and St. Croix Hospice.
