Robert Dieckman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Frederick Funeral Home on Nov. 25, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Robert "Bob" William Dieckman, Sr., age 85, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025. A lifelong resident of Cincinnati, Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. His steady presence, strong character, and warm spirit enriched the lives of all who knew him.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Patricia (nee Doolin) Dieckman, with whom he built a loving and enduring partnership. Together, they raised a close-knit family. He was the loving father of: Robert William (Monica) Dieckman, Jr., Kathleen Dieckman, Pamela (Douglas) Davidson, Michael (Tina) Dieckman, and Kelly (Brad) Forbes. Bob was a proud grandfather to: Alexandra Osborne, Jared Osborne, Erika (Austen) Moret, Shaun Davidson, Makayla Forbes, John Forbes, Elizabeth Dieckman, Jonathan (Megan) Dieckman, Sarah Dieckman, Thomas Dieckman, and Catherine Dieckman. He was blessed with three great-grandchildren: Nora Dieckman, Myla Dieckman, and Ada Dieckman. He is also survived by his nieces: Theresa Dieckman and Clare Dieckman. He was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene, and his parents, Edward and Clara.

Bob was a graduate of St. Xavier High School, followed by a brief tenure of study at the University of Cincinnati, before honorably serving his country in the United States Marine Corps. He carried these values with him throughout his life.

He began his professional journey as a draftsman and later owned and operated several small businesses. He worked tirelessly, taking pride in growing his businesses and providing for his family.

Bob's faith and sense of community were important parts of his life. His friends meant a lot to him, and many of his friends were like family. He treasured the support, conversation, and laughter they shared over the decades. Above all, his family always came first, and he enjoyed time spent with them.

Bob enjoyed fishing-both locally and on memorable trips to Canada-as well as camping, traveling across the United States, especially the West, learning about history, and playing cards. He was a dedicated sports fan who cheered passionately for Notre Dame, Ohio State, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Cincinnati Reds.

He had a deep love for the American West and found joy in watching old westerns. A true Cincinnatian at heart, he loved local favorites like Skyline Chili and goetta, and he especially enjoyed frequent outings to Brookville Lake, one of his favorite places to relax and enjoy nature.

Those who knew Bob will remember his strength, humor, and generous heart. He lived a life defined by humility and devotion to the people he loved. His legacy lives on in his family and in all whose lives he touched.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 11:30 AM at St. Ann's Parish, 2900 West Galbraith Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45239 until time of funeral mass at 1:00 PM, at the same location: St. Ann's Parish 2900 West Galbraith Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45239. Burial will follow at: Crown Hill Memorial Park, 11825 Pippin Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
