Robert Dodd of Holly Lake Ranch, TX passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025 at home, he was 79.

Robert Lee Dodd was born on July 7, 1945, to John H. Dodd and Doris Gibbons Dodd in Selma, CA. He survived by his wife Paulette Stupka Dodd of Holly Lake Ranch, TX; brother Jerry Dodd & wife Sherry of Sulphur Springs, TX; son Cory Dodd of Holly Lake Ranch, TX; son Jason Dodd & wife Shannon of Como, TX; son Mick Villers & wife Christine of Flower Mound, TX; daughter Michelle Croxton & husband Lance of Holly Lake Ranch, TX; grandchildren Codey, Rileigh, Caden, Calvin, Jenna, Ethan and Preston; and one great-granddaughter Emery.

He was preceded in death by his Father & Mother; two brothers John D and Randy; and one sister Wanda.

Robert worked for many years at Northeast Texas Oxygen in Sulphur Springs, TX where he drove a route truck delivering welding and medical supplies. He later moved to Decatur, TX with his nephew Jerry Wayne Dodd & wife Donna where he helped build their new business and again drove a route truck delivering supplies to many operations for North Texas Dairy Supply. This move resulted in him meeting his future wife Paulette, who was a blessing, and the best thing to ever happen to Robert (confirmed by many). Later in life he worked at Five Star Ford in North Richland Hills and made many friends and ultimately retired in 2020. At the dealership he was known to personally stock the service department office with snacks he would buy at Sam’s Club. He would also go to the nearby Whataburger, walk in the door and the workers would ask, “how many justaburgers do you want today?” They would fill up a sack so Robert could give them out at work.

He moved to Holly Lake Ranch for a second time where he began living in “paradise” as he called it. Paulette soon joined him shortly thereafter when she retired. Robert enjoyed playing golf for many years with a special group called the “Red Dogs”. In the spirit of Robert’s giving nature, people on the golf course referred to him as the “Candyman”, he always was handing out treats and breakfast sandwiches to anyone he would see on the course.

Robert was a proud Marine, Vietnam Veteran and he made sure everyone knew it, as he decorated his truck with decals and magnets. He would almost every day be wearing some article of clothing or hat representing the Marine Corps. He also was a member of the Pineywoods Veterans Association.

Robert always had the gift of “gab” and was never shy to tell people what he thought, even if it was a complete stranger. He also made sure everyone he met knew he was a son of a seventh son, born on the seventh day of the seventh month. Robert touched many lives in his almost 80 years of life. He will be greatly missed by many, but he will always be in our hearts and part of our own life’s journey.

Serving as pallbearers: Cory Dodd, Jason Dodd, Codey Dodd, Caden Dodd, Mick Villers, Lance Croxton.

Visitation will be held for Robert on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 10:00AM-12:00PM at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations followed by Graveside services at 12:30PM at Green Pond Cemetery in Como, TX with Brother Jerry Dodd officiating.
