Robert D. "Bob" Dowden

Robert "Bob" D. Dowden, a beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, in Georgia, at the age of 88. Born on December 15, 1936, in Indiana, Bob was the cherished son of the late Earl R. Dowden and Ruth Evans Dowden.

A distinguished career in service and education defined Bob's life. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he developed lifelong friendships and a deep sense of commitment to his country. Following his military service, Bob dedicated himself to shaping the minds of future generations as a teacher in Detroit, where he was known for his passion for education and his ability to connect with his students.

Bob was more than his accomplishments; he was a man of deep familial love and kindness. He is survived by his devoted spouse, Tuenjit Dowden, and his beloved children: Roger Dowden, Michael Dowden, Lisa Dodwen, and Leeann Dowden. Bob also leaves behind a vast host of family and friends who will miss his warmth and generous spirit.

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his legacy and share their memories Monday, December 15, 2025 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home; Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM. A service celebrating Bob's life will be held at the Chapel at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, Monday December 15, 2025 at 5:00 PM.
