Robert Lester Downen

Robert Downen, of Holt Missouri, born on November 17th, 1956,passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories.
He was born to the late Robert Downen and late Betty Martin in Unionville, Missouri. Rob carried the values his parents instilled in him throughout his life, honoring them through his integrity, compassion, and hard work.
Robert Downen, a devoted man of faith, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, integrity, and passion for the simple joys in life. He loved the Lord with all his heart. Those who knew him could always count on his kind spirit, unwavering honesty, and warm presence.
One of Robert's greatest joys was working with bird dogs. He spent countless hours training them with care and skill, taking immense pride in their progress. He was also a passionate participant in field trials, where he built lifelong friendships and shared stories that will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl Jean Downen, who stood by his side through life's many journeys. He is survived by his two children: Chelsey (Trevor) McCrary, Dylan Downen, three step children: Melanie (Jim) Bailey, Dana (Mark) Zimmerman, Derrin From, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
