Robert Drain Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Funeral Home - Springdale on Feb. 19, 2024.
Robert Earl Drain, 78, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away at his home on Friday, February 16, 2024. He was born October 26, 1945, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the sixth son out of nine born to Troy and Thelma Mitchell Drain. At a young age, he began working at Brough Commons at the University of Arkansas and continued there until he retired after 67 years of service. Bobby was a loyal and compassionate man who always watched out for the people he cared about. Bobby's life was full of love, laughter and family. He had a great memory for stories and enjoyed sharing them with his loved ones. In 1978, Bobby was residing with his brothers, Johnny and Rickie, when Johnny married the love of his life, Dianna. She moved in with them and began a living arrangement that continued until he passed away. Over the years, Bobby and Rickie were as brothers to Dianna and second fathers to their niece, Stephanie, born a year later. This continued when their great-niece, Adlee, became part of the family in 2011. Bobby was her treasured Poppy and he loved her and Stephanie dearly. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by four brothers: Alvin, Donnie, Wayne and Billie.
He is survived by four brothers, Junior, Jackie, Rickie and Johnny; his sister-in-law, Dianna; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He lived a live of service and loyalty to his family and he will be greatly missed by all.
Arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas 72762. No services are scheduled at this time.
