Robert L. Drake, a beloved member of the Cincinnati and Sardinia communities, passed away peacefully at his home in Sardinia, Ohio on June 27, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on September 15, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
A man of remarkable character, Robert was known for his caring and generous spirit. He dedicated his life to helping others, often found volunteering and serving in food pantries. His humble demeanor hid a profound strength, and he was a pillar of faith in his family and community. Robert was passionate about his interests, which included collecting family genealogy and engaging in hobby farming, where he took pride in caring for cattle and chickens.
Robert’s professional career included his work as a Motor Repair Technician at Wheatley Electric, where his skills and knowledge garnered respect among his colleagues. He took great pride in his work and was known for his reliability and expertise.
Among his proudest accomplishments were the two homes he built by himself, showcasing not only his hands-on skills but also his determination and dedication to craftsmanship.
He is survived by his loving brother, Richard (Shonda) Drake, James (the late Teresa) Drake; his sister Joyce (Ralph) Wells; and a host of nieces and nephews, including Melissa (Bernie) Tucker, Sheri Bechtel, Donnie Ann York, Ginger (Nathan) Cohen, Jessica, Trinity, and Christian Drake, Brittany (Griffin) Teremi-Wells, and Brandon (Sara) Drake. Each of them will remember him fondly and carry forward his legacy of kindness and generosity.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Denver and Virginia (nee Barrett) Drake, his wife Beverly Faye Drake, his fiancée Annie Skaggs, his sister Nancy (Brett) Schulz, and his niece Mary Helen York.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on July 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home, located at 2880 Boudinot Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45238. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, also at the funeral home. Robert will then be interred at Arlington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Robert Drake’s unwavering faith, generosity, and humble spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of many.
