Robert Drongoski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc. on Dec. 4, 2025.
Robert A. Drongoski, 81, of Beach Lake, died on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, the former Darlene H. Smith. The couple married on December 8, 1979.

Born on July 5, 1944 in Passaic, NJ, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Hooyman) Drongoski.

He was the proud owner and operator of Village Automotive, where he spent countless hours tinkering on cars and sharing his automotive expertise with others, especially his son, his grandson, and his nephews. His love of cars later moved into sales. He enjoyed attending auctions to buy and sell vehicles, relishing in the thrill of the hunt, always saying, "You gotta spend money to make money."

He was a man of many talents and interests-he enjoyed playing guitar, showing off his skills as a yo-yo champion, and was a skilled pool player in a pool league. Above all, he cherished the moments spent with his family, especially during vacations that often included memorable scuba diving trips with his daughters.

Robert was a lover of animals, particularly his dogs, and he had a kind and generous heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Rosanne Drongoski of Falls Church, VA, Robbie Drongoski of Beach Lake, Melinda Miller and husband Thomas of Conway, SC, Patty Kominski and husband Ron of Honesdale and Samantha Landers of Beach Lake; and his brother, Joel Drongoski of VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Stacey Lehman, Stephanie Drongoski, Tanner Drongoski, Rachel Miller, Rebekah Miller, TJ Miller, Tyler Kominski, Kayla Kominski, Rosalind Landers, Audrey Landers and Logan Landers; great grandchildren, Stetson, Sterling and Stevie Lehman.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Bastone.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 8th at Whispering Pines Community Church, 7 Milanville Rd. Beach Lake, PA 18405 at 11 am. Friends may visit on Monday, 10 until the time of service at the church. As per his request, cremation will follow. Arrangements by Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale.
