Our beloved, Robert Kwaku Duah, intimately known as RK, transitioned from us on March 2nd, 2024 at the tender age of 68 in Windsor Mill, Maryland. Robert was born on January 23rd, 1956 in Kumasi, Ghana. He was the son of Theresah K. Dwomah & Francis K. Duah.
In early years, Robert attended an all-male boarding secondary school known as Mfantsipim, which is located in Cape Coast, Ghana. He then continued his education in the United States in 1978 at California Polytechnic University majoring in Business. Fueled by his sense of duty, ambition, and an entrepreneur spirit, Robert was self-employed as he owned and operated several Residential Treatment Facilities for children and adults, along with a Home Health Agency. His work ethic and love for servicing his community was admired by all and echoes by way of his children. He was a loving and devoted father. He was the mastermind and the genius that influenced his children's success and selfless contributions to their community.
Despite the strenuous demands of business, Robert maintained a healthy work/life balance. Robert was a long-term member of the USA Table Tennis Association. He enjoyed playing Ping Pong, watching sports, and having game night at the house with his children. Robert loved games such as scrabble and chess and remains undefeated. Robert also enjoyed traveling, with one of his favorite destinations being Las Vegas as he enjoyed the entertainment offered by the exciting city.
Robert was a man of few words, he was patient, compassionate, and had one of the most beautiful smiles. He always wanted the best for his family and community. His work ethic, integrity, and morals were an inspiration to many. We will cherish the beautiful memories of our beloved father and forever keep his light in our hearts.
Robert is survived by his 2 daughters (Roberta & Josephine) Duah; his son, Robert Duah Jr; his 2 older brothers, John & Frank; his sister Josephine, and his 7 grandchildren : Azaria, Amir, Amani, Alonzo, Myla, Jalyn, and Jaliyaah. Robert was predeceased by his mother and his father; Theresah & Francis.
The viewing service to celebrate Robert's life will be held Desert Hills Mortuary & Cemetery; 6500 E. Bell Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85254 on March. 30th, 2024 from 9am-12pm. The funeral will be at the same address from 12-2pm on March 30th, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Robert's memory to Four Angels Foundation (www.fourangelsfoundation.com) to further his mission of serving the community and those underserved.
