Robert Joseph Dumas, 67, passed away peacefully at Ayer Valley Rehab & Nursing on January 2, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.  

Robert was born in Lowell, MA on November 12, 1956 to Dorothy Larsen. Later in life he moved to Ayer, MA with his wife Jane Dumas where they raised their family. 

Robert was a family man, willing to do anything for the ones he loved. Robert could be found in the shop working on a motorcycle, telling one of his famous stories, loving his grandchildren or on the quarter mile. Robert was a motorcycle enthusiast and owner of B&J Cycles in Ayer, MA where he not only worked on motorcycles but taught others about his passion as well. Robert was an ECRA champion and a long-time follower and supporter of the AHDRA. Robert was known for riding on two wheels in the left lane at full throttle during any weather and at any time of year.  

Robert is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jane Dumas of Ayer; his daughter Angela Dumas and grandson Samuel Fernandez of Ayer; his son Robert Dumas III & fiancé Coleen DeLanoy of Ayer. Robert is survived by his sister Denise Whitney of Shirley and his brother George Dumas of Ayer. He is survived by his bonus children Stephanie Cormier of Littleton; Ali Giannino, fiancé Dan Howard & granddaughter Eliza of Pepperell and Lucas Dumas of Ayer. He is also survived by many family members, friends and his loyal dog Ellie. 

Robert was predeceased by his grandson, Nathaniel “The Bull” Fernandez; his mother Dorothy Larsen; sister Leann Saunders; sister Desiree Holland; brother Richard Larsen; nephews Timothy Dumas & Andrew Callaluca and sister-in-law Catherine Dumas. 

Robert “The Brain” Dumas will be missed by all who knew him.

Viewing will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 from 3 - 8 pm at McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main St., (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA. Funeral services will be held privately.
