Rev. Mr. Robert W. Dzuris, 88, of Chelmsford, passed away on August 15, 2024, after living an abundant life filled with love, faith, and family. Robert was born on December 23,1935, to William and Aline Dzuris in Holyoke. After growing up in Chicopee, he married his high school sweetheart and one true love, Doris (Duval) Dzuris.
As a young man he served in the Navy Reserves, attended DeVry University, and worked in sales and manufacturing in CT and later in MA. As a seasoned professional, Robert owned and operated three successful businesses, Equipment Sales Company, Manufacturing Resources, and Accupoint; all of which were located in Lowell and employed hundreds of people over the years. In 1984, Robert retired from the field of computer board manufacturing, testing and sales and began the next chapter of his life which he dedicated to the service of others. For the next ten years, he served as the Assistant Director at the House of Hope in Lowell. During that time he attended St. John's Seminary and began his life in the Diaconate. "Deacon Bob" went on to serve at St. Mary Parish in Chelmsford, then St. Rita's in Lowell, and later served as a volunteer Chaplin at Lowell General Hospital.
Following his service to others, he settled into a quiet life living in Tyngsborough, where he was surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Robert thoroughly enjoyed his life whether that was fishing or playing cards with his sons-in-law, enjoying a good cigar by the water, or spending quiet moments in NH. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, he enjoyed traveling, getting together with friends and family, bird watching, taking long and frequent walks with Doris and their dog, Lucky. Throughout his life, he found solace in prayer and was frequently in awe of the ferns and trees as they swayed in the breeze.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Doris, his devoted sister, Elaine Real, his daughter Deborah Hacker and his son-in-law Richard Hacker of Mililani, HI, his daughter Lisa DeMoura and his son-in-law, Mario DeMoura of Chelmsford, his daughter Patricia Dzuris and her partner Patrick Maloney of Chelmsford, his daughter Pamela Walton and his son-in-law William Walton of Placentia, CA and his daughter Laura McLaughlin and his son-in-law Richard McLaughlin of Tyngsborough.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Aline Robey, Michael Robey, RaeAnn Robey, Daniel Keating, Mario DeMoura, Rebecca Ricker, Dylan Walton, Rosie Gossett, Jacob Walton, Derek McLaughlin, and Robert McLaughlin, by his nieces, and many great-grandchildren all of whom will be blessed by his universal love in the years to come.
Robert was predeceased by his father, William Dzuris, mother Aline (Roberts) Dzuris, and his loving cousin and friend Corrine Ducharme.
At the end of his life, Robert and his family had the honor of welcoming caregivers, Holly Cusano and Kathi Devlin into their family. We will be eternally grateful for their compassionate care and the support they offered so freely.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford on Wednesday at 11 am following the visitation. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to their favorite charity.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Deacon Bob Dzurez. I remember him from the 1980s when we worked together for some years and when he tried to help me through some difficult and confusing times, even when I was not prepared to receive his help. A couple of decades later we got a chance to revisit those times and I could finally express my thanks to him. Bob was a gracious, good man. May he rest in Christ peace.

Laura and family, so sorry to hear of your loss.

"Those we love don´t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, but very dear."

Your Dad will always be a part of you. Cherish the many beautiful memories you shared.

Bob was a very nice and kind man. I go way back with Deb, so we all grew up together. I was invited up to the camp, and he was very generous. He will be sorely missed!!! Jan Ramani
