Jean Marie (Fiore) Murphy, age 64, a resident of Lakeville, formerly a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at Falmouth Hospital on Thursday, October 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of William R. Murphy with whom she enjoyed 40 years of marriage.
She was born in Somerville on June 5, 1961, and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Louise B. (Griffin) Fiore. Jean was the youngest and had sisters Carol O' Callaghan, Mary Bulhoes and Barbra Reidy. Jean was active in sports playing basketball and umpiring baseball like her father.
She graduated from Somerville High School in 1980. Jean pursued a career in Nursing and graduated from the Youville Hospital School of Nursing in 1986. She loved being a nurse and caring for people. She worked at Youville, Cambridge Nursing Home, Belmont Manor, and most recently at Blaire House of Tewksbury. Jean loved going out with her family shopping and taking many vacation trips including Disney, Hawaii, Cancun, Las Vegas, Jamacia, Paradise Island, and many others. She enjoyed spending many years at their cottage in Lakeville at the beach and cruising the neighborhood in the golf cart. The most important thing in Jean's life was family she cared for her three children, and three grandchildren.
In addition to her loving husband, Jean is survived by her daughter Sarah of Manchester, NH, son Robert of Randolph, MA and son Sean of Lakeville, MA; and grandchildren Derek, Noah, and Ella. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 9 am to 11 am at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 am in the funeral home following the visitation. Interment will be held at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
