Robert J. Earls, Jr., 65, of Roanoke unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. Earls, Sr. and Marie Weeks Dalton; and a brother, Tony Earls.
Robert was a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and attended Virginia Western Community College.
Robert never met a stranger, who didn't instantly become a friend. His exuberance for life and willingness to help anyone will live on in the memories of those that loved him. He took every chance he could to visit his daughters in Boston (even if that meant driving a moving truck 12 hours to relocate them to their next homes) but he always called Roanoke home.
Surviving is his wife of 40 years, Diane Earls; daughters, Paige Earls and fiance Garrett Blank, Haley Earls and husband Patrick Clarke; grandson, Bodie Robert Clarke; brother, Mike Earls; dog, Brady; grand dog, Fisher; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks the memorials be made to Tunnels to Towers 2361 Hylan Boulevard Staten Island, New York 10306, or to Spikes K-9 Fund 5760 Northampton Boulevard, 118 Virginia Beach, VA 23455.
A celebration of Robert's life will take place at Robert's favorite restaurant, Four Nineteen West 3865 Electric Road Roanoke, VA where he could often be found with his family and friends. The family will be there from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 13th. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 540 366 0707

Just found out today that Robert passed away. I'm so sorry and heartbroken. Robert was a dear friend and I will miss our supporting chats. Mike and I both loved him very much. Dance with the Angels dear friend. RIP.

I'm so sorry to hear of Roberts passing. I'm just now finding out and I'm just at a loss for words. He was always so kind to my family. It wasn't that long ago that he and I had lunch at 419. Words can't express the loss of Robert. Prayers for his family.

We are in total shock and simply heartbroken. Our best memories in Roanoke included Robert. He was the best friend and always provided laughter and fun to every occasion. The "Honeywood Gang" has lost a beautiful soul. Love to Diane and the entire family.

Robert Earls was my cousin. His Father was my mother's brother. I called him Bobby and every time I think back to our family trips to Roanoke or to Squire...Bobby was always a joyful part of my memories. His smile was infectious and he was always kind hearted. Although, there were times we twisted his arm to be a little mischievous!! Dear Bobby, I will hold your warm smile in my heart. While I never had the pleasure of meeting your wife and children, I know they miss you terrible and I will hold them in our thoughts and prayers .
