Robert Earl Easton

Robert Earl Easton, 88, of Queen Creek, Arizona, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025. He was born in Laramie, Wyoming on February 19, 1937, to Earl Wildman Easton and Evelyn Dorothy Sims. He grew up in Southern California, graduating from Colton High School before enlisting in the United States Air Force. From 1958 to 1962, he proudly served as a mechanic working on B-47 bombers and KC-97 tankers.

After his military service, Robert pursued his passion for engineering, earning a degree in civil engineering. He dedicated the majority of his career to Caltrans (California Department of Transportation), retiring in 1998 after many years of service.

On May 18, 1963, Robert married his sweetheart, Cheryl Ann Hardy, in the Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They shared 60 wonderful years together until Cheryl's passing in 2023. Together, they raised five children: Curtis Earl (Laura Ruell), Stephanie Ann, Matthew Charles (Stephanie Casper), Elizabeth Ellen, and Kathryn Lynnette. Robert was also a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Brittney Nicole (Easton) Olsen, Ashley Morgan (Easton) Behrmann, Samantha Anne (Easton) Halisky, Alison Diane Easton, Jordan Olivia Easton, and Joshua Wildman Easton. His legacy lives on through his three great-grandchildren: Easton Behrmann, Greyson Behrmann, and Kadon Behrmann.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Robert was baptized at the age of 19 and remained a faithful and active member throughout his life. He served in numerous callings, and in 2007-2008, he and Cheryl fulfilled a lifelong dream by serving a mission in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission.

In his free time, Robert had a passion for classic cars, particularly Mustangs, and loved restoring them. His love for adventure was also reflected in his fondness for hiking. Robert cherished taking his family on hikes in the mountains of Northern California and throughout Southern Utah after he and Cheryl retired to St. George, and later, Hurricane, Utah.

Robert's life was a testament to service, love, and devotion to family and faith. He is dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
