KIMBERLY – Robert (Bob) Lee Eddings, age 84, of Kimberly, Idaho, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Little Wood Reservoir following a great day of fishing.
Bob was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on August 25, 1941, the son of the late Alfred and Margaret (Hays) Eddings.
Much of his childhood years were spent crop following with the family across Idaho, Oregon and over to Kansas. He graduated from Kimberly High School in 1959, and enlisted into the United States Navy, serving active duty until August 1962. After his military service, Bob secured employment with I.P.P.I/Ore-Ida/McCain Foods, in Burley, where he held committed employment for 40 years until he retired.
Bob enjoyed being outdoors camping, hunting, gold prospecting, but most of all fishing. He also rarely passed up an opportunity to sit down and play card games with family or friends.
Bob is survived by his wife, Aleta Kay Eddings; sisters, Marilyn Snow, Shirley (Ray) Clark-Sandefur both of Kimberly, and Debbie (Dick) Hawley of California; two half-siblings, Dale Alfred Janke and Audrey Annette Jones; two sons, Lee (Sherry) Eddings and William (Billy) Eddings both of Rupert; two daughters, Tina (Donald) Mespelt and Dianna Uhl both of Mountain Home; two step-sons, JW Ray Jr. of Rupert and William (Bill) Ray of Twin Falls; as well as a combined family of 29 grandchildren and their spouses; 34 great-grandchildren; many nephews, nieces, and friends from all around.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, Don Eddings and Tom Eddings; half-sister, Sonya Jean; daughter, Vicki Eddings; step-daughter, Aleta Diane Ray; grandson, Brandon Mespelt; and great-grandson, Afton Allison.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 30, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 East 16th Street, in Burley. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley, where military honors will be provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Group.
A viewing for family and friends will be held from 10 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
