Robert T. Edwards, 93, formerly of Clinton Township and Vandling, died peacefully on Monday morning, June 30, 2025 at Bethany Village. His beloved wife of 70 years, the former Maureen O'Connor survives him.
Born June 8, 1932 in Union City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Thomas and Ella (Moore) Edwards.
Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. Bob and Maureen were foster parents to many children through the years. They found great fulfillment in opening the home and hearts to young people in need. Bob was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He and Maureen both loved animals and enjoyed caring for many throughout their lives.
In addition to his wife Maureen, he is also survived by a niece, Christine O'Connor Surendra, and a nephew, George.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Edwards and Dorothy Provozano; a niece, Kathleen O'Conner Boelhouwer; and a brother-in-law, Joseph O'Connor.
Graveside Funeral Services with military honors will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at the Clinton Center Cemetery, 1000 Belmont Turnpike Waymart, PA with Pastor Earl Cottrell officiating. Everyone attending is asked to go directly to the cemetery on Tuesday.
Friends and family may visit on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 6-8 PM at the Howell Family Funeral Home, Inc., Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob's memory to Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Drive, Honesdale, PA 18431.
