Born on December 5, 1936 in St. Louis, MO, Bob was the second child of the late John J. Eilerman and Marie (Liebman) Eilerman. He grew up in St. Louis, MO and shortly after graduating from St. Mary's High School (St. Louis, MO) he served in the United States Army from 1955-1958. While stationed at Ft. Devens he met Dale O'Donnell (his future wife) at the Ayer Train Station when asked by Dale's mother to carry her daughter's suitcase. After being discharged from the Army, Bob and Dale were married on August 23, 1958 at St. Leo's Parish in Leominster, MA.
Bob and Dale eventually settled in Fitchburg, MA where they raised three children. Bob got his bachelor's degree from Clark University and his master's degree in teaching at Assumption College and became a history teacher for 27 years at Nashoba Regional High School. He was proud of his alma maters St. Mary's High School (St. Louis), Clark University, and Assumption College and you would often find Bob wearing clothing from his alma maters.
Bob was a family man always active in his children's various activities. He enjoyed spending time with and assisting relatives. He took great pride in mentoring numerous students over his years, and several can attribute much of their development and success to his guidance and care. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob and Dale retired to Bluffton, SC where they were each active members of their community and church. Robert is survived by his son, Damien R.
