Robert “Papa” Eldridge 82, of Brenham, Texas, passed away on February 25, 2025.
Robert was born on December 2nd, 1942 to David and Jewel Eldridge in Somerville, Texas. He graduated from Somerville High School. While in school, he worked for a local gas station and continued to do so after graduation. He then worked for the Railroad until he sustained a back injury. He then moved to carpentry work which is what he really loved doing. When he wasn’t doing this, you could find him at the lake, fishing or at classic car shows.
Robert is survived by his wife, Mozelle Eldridge, and sons Robert “Robbie” Eldridge and Michael Eldridge and step daughters Pam Bumguardner and Shannon Pope; his grandchildren Jessica Rosenbaum, Ashley Eldridge, Micheshalae Eldridge, Michael Eldridge Jr, Robert Mason Eldridge, Dawaun Eldridge, Randa Nichols, Cayden Hutchins, his beloved grandson Dustin Heidbreder who will always be a son in his heart, Kullen and Mason Williams; 4 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild arriving in August; brother David Eldridge and wife Sherry, sisters Lucille Roebuck, Roylean Faust & Jarrell Dean Bates and brothers-in-law Robert Ladewig and Robert Werner and sister-in-law Mary Kay Eldridge . There are numerous other relatives and friends that are left to carry his spirt in their hearts.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donnie and Larry Eldridge, sister Shirley Ladewig, Elaine Brown and sisters-in-law Linda Werner.
Pallbearers are Dustin Heidbreder, Kullen Williams, Mason Williams, Cayden Hutchins, Taylor Larson and Justin Brending.
Because of his love of fishing, the family requests you to wear your favorite fishing shirt.
