Robert Eugene Ewart, age 88 of Athens, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025 in Texarkana, Texas. He was born on February 9, 1937 in Uniondale, Indiana to the late Emmitt Eugene Ewart and Whitheral Marcelle Chase Ewart.

Mr. Ewart was a member of the Athens Holiness Church. He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed his career in truck driving. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, Eli Ewart.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixty-six years, Betty Burgess Ewart; his daughter and son-in-law, Becky Watkins and Paul; his son and daughter-in-law, Greg Ewart and Christi; two siblings: Charles (Veda) Ewart and Bonnie Blessing; seven grandchildren: Gregory (Stephanie) Ewart, Jr., Joshua (Jennifer) Watkins, Amanda (Ryan) Cater, Adam (Kaison) Watkins, Kerry Ewart, Max (Gabrielle) Gullion and Samantha Gullion; sixteen great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at the Athens Holiness Church.

Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at the Athens Holiness Church with Darin Wood and Dennis Heath officiating. Interment will follow in Athens Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Nashville.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Ewart’s memory to the Athens Holiness Church, 1296 Hwy 84 E, Umpire, AR 71917 or any other preferred charity.
