Robert "Bob" Ewert

Bob died peacefully at the age of 75 on March 16, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years and best friend, Barb Ewert. Proud father of Jeff Ewert (Tanya Putzer) and Chris Ewert. Caring brother of Betty Anne Ewert. Brother-in-law of Jean and Tom Louchbaum and Jane Seher. Uncle of Michael Ewert, Julie (Nate Roszina) Louchbaum, Shelley (Kevin) Baker, and Danny (Kayla) Louchbaum. Great uncle of Avery Louchbaum and Emma Baker. Adoring cat dad of Gabby. He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Beatrice Ewert, and brothers-in-law Dick and Bob Wright.
Bob grew up in Milwaukee until his family moved to Germantown, where he played basketball, football, and track for Germantown High School. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in History. Bob was a member of the Air Force and was stationed in the Northwestern United States. He proudly served as a survival trainer for soldiers. Bob worked for Kohl's Food Stores for almost 30 years, with the majority of his time there as the liquor buyer for the company. After Kohl's closed, he worked part-time at Target.
As an avid fisherman, Bob spent a lot of his free time on the lake trying to catch the next "lunker." He looked forward to family vacations in Hayward and fishing trips with his son, brothers-in-law, and nephews. Bob was a skilled photographer and tried very hard (and with a lot of patience) to teach his daughter how to take the perfect picture. Bob was a life-long Packers fan, even during the tough years in the 80's and 90's and also enjoyed watching the Bucks, Brewers, and Marquette Basketball. Bob and Jeff went to many Bucks games at the Mecca Arena and Bradley Center.
Bob and Barb retired within a year of each other and enjoyed spending time together with their family and cats. They sold their house of more than 40 years in Milwaukee and moved to New Berlin. Once in New Berlin, they loved watching the birds and small animals that lived outside of their condo. Bob and Barb were true partners in life. He took care of his "sweetie" when she got sick in 2019, and she did the same when he got diagnosed with dementia at the end of 2020 and continued to do so until his passing.
Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 22nd, from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM, with service to follow at 1:00 PM.
When Bob retired, he was happy to put away his suits and slip on his jeans. To honor Bob, please feel free to wear jeans and casual clothing to the service.
