Yakel, Joan A. (nee Braun)

Born into eternal life on Friday August 1, 2025, at age of 83 years old. Beloved wife of Kenneth for 47 years until his passing in December 2021. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Grover and Carol (nee Staats) Braun and her adored sister Judith Meister. Survived by her loving sons Kenneth (Amber) Yakel and Thomas Yakel. Proud grandmother to Amy and Alex. Dear sister of Grover (Ann) Braun, James (Joanne) Braun, and Roxanne (Jack) Rindt.

Joan was a proud graduate of Germantown High School and served her class reunion community for many years. She graciously served her community by donating over 250 pints of blood during her lifetime. She was a long-term employee of Allis-Chalmers power division until their closure in the 1990's. During her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, gardening, clothes shopping, and traveling around Wisconsin with Ken. After her husband's passing, she enjoyed spending time talking on the phone and traveling to casinos with her sister-in-law Joanne.

Special thanks to the staff at Franklin Place Memory Care, St. Luke's and West Allis Memorial Hospital.

Joan and Ken were our fishing friends at Blue Top Resort in Fremont. We will surely miss them both. We are deeply sorry.
